Abstract
In 2000 – 2001, 379/413 (92%) hospitals participated in the SHOT scheme compared with 72% the previous year. There were increases in both the number of hospitals submitting reports (199/413 hospitals eligible to participate; 11.6% increase since the previous year and 25.9% since the scheme began), and the overall number of reports (315 initial reports; 7.5% increase since the previous year). See Table 1. From 315 initial report forms data analysis is based on 283 completed questionnaires (Figure 1)
